Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, opened on Sunday the Egypt Energy Hub 2019 conference. Organized by Raya IT, the conference was attended by ambassadors, representatives of companies operating in the oil and gas sector, and industry leaders.
Among many discussions on the future of the energy industry, the conference highlighted a great opportunity to transform Egypt into a regional oil and gas hub, benefiting from its strategic location and the recent discoveries in the oil section.
Decision makers and IT experts discussed across multiple sessions and round-tables the digital transformation and how it could be used to develop the energy scene in Egypt.
The Chairman of Raya Holding, Medhat Khalil, pointed out the importance of adopting the country’s Information technology-based strategic plans in the oil and gas sector. “According to the data from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the digital transformation has contributed with 15% of the GDP” Khalil said.
Moreover, Khalil added that Raya is planning to increase cooperation with Egypt’s oil and gas sector for mapping the digital transformation process. “Raya IT can contribute in the sector by providing digital solutions that can save time and efforts,” Khalil added.
Raya IT CEO, Hesham Abdel Rassoul, mentioned that the conference is part of Raya IT’s commitment to serving the national projects with digital transformation and technological solutions. Nevertheless, during the conference, Abdel Rassoul voiced the vision of Raya IT to digitalize the work process in the oil and gas sector based on the following pivotal lines:
